CBD AND YOUR BODY
Understanding your body’s CBD receptors.
Your body’s endocannabinoid system is comprised of two types of receptors — CB1 and CB2. These receptors are neurotransmitters involved in physiological processes including appetite, pain-sensation, mood, and memory. Cannabinoid receptors are activated by cannabinoids generated naturally inside the body or introduced by CBD from cannabis.
•CB1 receptors in your body are found predominantly in your brain and nervous system, as well as in peripheral organs and tissues. CBD interacts with the CB1 receptor to benefit the body, especially the nervous system.
•CB2 is a G protein-coupled receptor from the cannabinoid-1 receptor family that in humans is encoded by the CNR2 gene. CBD interacts with the CB2 receptor to benefit the body, especially the immune system.
CBD WILL NOT GET YOU HIGH.
High CBD strains do not produce a euphoric feeling or the agitated paranoia that sometimes accompanies THC.
HOW MUCH CBD SHOULD YOU TAKE?
A good way to determine your proper CBD dosage is to take 1–6 MG of CBD for every 10 pounds of body weight based on your age and total weight.
