Jeff Nathan, is Executive Chef and co-owner of Abigael’s on Broadway, the world’s largest kosher restaurant. Jeff is well known for his television series, New Jewish Cuisine, which was seen on public television stations nationwide, Israel and several other countries. He is an award-winning chef, restaurateur and cookbook author of two bestselling books, Adventures in Jewish Cooking and Jeff Nathan’s Family Suppers.
A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Chef Nathan is involved with several well-respected organizations, allowing him to be accredited within the RCA – Research Chef’s Association. He is also a continuing member of these several organizations ~ IFTA – International Food Technologists Association, the IACP – International Association of Culinary Professionals, and the James Beard Association.
Chef Nathan is a Culinary Development Consultant for the Hain-Celestial Group, and Culinary Director for Empire Poultry, Royal Wines Corporation and Kedem/Kayco Industries. Working directly within the research and development branch, Jeff creates many of the new products on the market shelves. These products specialize in the naturals, organic and kosher markets.
Interspersed with Jeff’s culinary work, he has consulted on the opening of several New York and New Jersey restaurants. Kitchen design, menu creations, employee and office management have each been a facet that Jeff has developed.
An informative and infectiously enthusiastic teacher, Nathan received a James Beard Award's nomination for his work on New Jewish Cuisine for Best National Television Cooking Series. His creative approach to cooking has been enthusiastically received, and Nathan has been profiled in articles in magazines and newspapers throughout the country. Chef Nathan has appeared on several radio and television programs as a guest chef, CBS, NBC and ABC News, Martha Stewart Radio, TV Food Network’s The Best Of… Holidays and won their Throwdown with Bobby Flay challenge.
