Kosherfest to host the annual New Product Competition, a prestige for kosher-certified food and beverage producers.
Secaucus, NJ –(October 1, 2015)—Each year a select panel of kosher supermarket buyers, culinary experts, industry luminaries, and media congress in New York City to sample over 100 of the newest kosher-certified products. Entries are submitted by suppliers and distributors exhibiting at Kosherfest, the world’s largest business to business event for the kosher industry. The deadline for entries is October 14, 2015 and winners will be announced on October 26, 2015.
Jamie Geller of Joy of Kosher magazine will be making a special appearance as a judge this year. “Kosherfest is the ultimate event for vendors to introduce their kosher products to retail buyers in the US,” said Geller. “I am delighted to be invited to take part in this year’s competition.”
Products are judged and awarded in the following categories:
- Cereals and convenience breakfast
- Yogurt or cheese
- Savory snacks including chips and crackers
- Sweet snacks including cookies and candy
- Breads and baked goods
- Frozen desserts
- Dips, spreads, and salsa
- Jams/preserves and dried fruit
- Condiments, sauces, dressings, and marinades
- Spices, oils, and vinegars
- Mixes
- Pastas, rice, and grains
- Frozen entrees and meal components
- Packaged meats
- Giftware, novelties, and non-food items
- Wine, beer, and spirits
- Non-alcoholic beverages
On November 10, 2015 the selected winners will be honored during the opening ceremony of the 27th edition of Kosherfest. Last year, nearly 6,000 attendees visited Kosherfest, including large retail buyers A&P Supermarkets, Ahold USA, Bi-Lo Holdings, Evergreen Supermarkets, Jewel Osco, KeHe, Schnucks Markets, Wakefern, and many more.
